Hernando Cortez stepped on to the coastline of this new world on a holy Friday called Vera Cruz or the True Cross. This land was called "Villa Rica de la Veracruz" or ´Rich Villa of the True Cross´ inspired by the abundances the land offered.

The old traditions remain in the city of Veracruz. The old buildings still maintain the European influences. This was one of the first colonial cities in the new world. Today you can enjoy the traditions...music, dance, food and hospiality of the people of Veracruz.

Near by is the city of Boca del Rio, the name for the Rio Banderas. The name taken from the Spanish because the native people of this land waved white flags at the Spanish, thinking they were envoys of Quetzalcoatl. Boca del Rio was established by the Dominican Bisop Alonzo de la Mata y Escobar in 1609. The area is located on the left bank of the head of the river Jamapa. The area became a city on 24 JAN 1988.
The state of Vercruz is in the eastern area of Mexico, along the Gulf of Mexico.

Boca del Rio is a rapidly developing modern city, with five star hotels, varieties of restaurants, a world class convention center and modern shopping mall.
