time HPR music programmer and announcer Campbell recalls..."I joined KHPR on December 18, 1981 a few weeks after the station
went on the air (with the Mahler 'Titan'). I followed Rick Hutto's shift and ATC from NPR. The shift ended at midnight but
I usually got out of the studio at 11:58PM and dashed for the last bus of the night into Waikiki. We broadcast from the old
wrestling building in the quarry at the University of Hawaii. Years later we would move to new facilities on Keheka street
across from the Holiday Mart. Lots of great staff and talent there, GM:Cliff Eblen, GM:Al Hulsen, Bob Miller, Mark Wagner, Craig Miller and Lisa Gibson were in various
management positions...the best! My wife and I left in 1994 with great memories of radio in paradise."
